Ben Brough is a marine insurance veteran, with more than 28 years’ experience across the UK, US, European, Asian and Middle Eastern marine and specialty (re)insurance markets. Brough joined Loadsure from Munich Re, where for close to three decades he established and grew the business’s global portfolio.
Jim draws upon his extensive transportation and technology industry experience to help steer Loadsure strategy and product development. Additionally, he drives sales and business development for the company. Nurturing a healthy sales pipeline and negotiating commercial contracts, the Loadsure pipeline has grown to include 60 integration clients under Jim’s leadership, including Kleinschmidt.
Before joining Loadsure, Jim served as 10-4 Systems’ Vice President of Administration, where he administered the company’s spin-off from its parent. His broad range of responsibilities included oversight and administration of sales, HR, procurement, and facilities. He was also responsible for contract negotiation with Fortune 500s, successfully closing business with global brands ranging from AB InBev and Amazon to JBS USA, General Electric, and Maersk. In addition, he played a key due diligence role in the company’s successful acquisition by Trimble.
Jim began his career with a small Denver-based warehousing and drayage company, Perry Transfer, which over the course of several mergers and acquisitions, became Exel and then DHL Supply Chain. His roles spanned operations, business development, and account management.
In his spare time, Jim is active in the Denver Transportation Club. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Management from Colorado Technical University.
“The opportunity to build a company from the ground-up has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career. Where Loadsure goes from here is limited only by our imagination, and I’m excited to drive its growth, knowing that my work helps my supply chain peers not only protect their businesses but operate more efficiently and affordably, as well.”

An insurtech innovator, Johnny’s digital-first approach delivers greater efficiency and effectiveness to the transportation insurance distribution chain. Having conceived of a fully-digital, end-to-end cargo insurance solution, his company now leverages automation and predictive analytics to expedite the flow of premiums and claims, while also reducing insurance costs.
Guided by Johnny’s visionary hand, Loadsure has become widely recognized as an innovative approach to serving volume transactional business and a path to new markets. In fact, Loadsure was the only Lloyd’s of London coverholder approved in 2019. It was also a Lloyd’s Lab 4th Cohort selection, runner-up for Insurance Insider’s 2020 Disruptor of the Year Award, and a 2021 FreightTech 100 honoree.
Johnny brings 18 years of cargo broking experience and a passion for entrepreneurship to the fore. Previously a cargo broker at Lochain Patrick and, before that, a founding member of Roanoake International, he grew books of business that included such impressive names as Macy’s, Volga-Dnepr, the Olympics, and Walt Disney.
Johnny is a board member of CSCMP UK.
